COVID-19 Advice

Doing business with Abbeys Group during COVID-19 restrictions

Abbeys Group continues to operate as the state moves out of lockdown.  Our auctions all continue online and our services businesses now can consult in homes.  There will be some restrictions imposed to both ensure we meet Government guidelines, but most importantly, to ensure we keep our team and our customers safe.

WE ARE BACK OPEN FOR IN-ROOM VIEWING THURSDAYS 9am – 5pm!

If you can’t make it in person, we are here to take your calls.

CALL US on phone 03 9898 2118 for extra information on any lots that take your interest or to arrange a video viewing or condition report.

Please continue to check this page to the most up to date advice on our auction viewing days.

For all other business, including front of house and contactless collections, we are open for double vaccinated visitors.

When you visit, please

  • check in using the QR codes
  • be prepared to be asked for proof of vaccination
  • wear masks at all times
  • use sanitiser before and after every visit
  • be mindful of social distancing and keep at least 1.5m between us
  • follow the instructions of our COVID Marshalls

Please do not visit us if you have symptoms, are in isolation or have recently been at an exposure site.

For more information, please contact our Pandemic Officer, Amanda Brook to discuss working with us during restrictions. A full copy of our detailed COVID-Safe plan is available on request.

Safety is at the top of our list

Your safety and that of our team is most important to us. We have a detailed COVID-Safe plan and our professional team members are trained to operate under strict protocols. Download our PDF on Doing Business with Abbeys Auctions.

Staff Vaccinations

Our policy is that every Abbeys Group team member must achieve double vaccination as soon as possible.  Every member of our team has had a single vaccination and we are at over 90% completion with the second vaccination.  We believe that we will achieve 100% staff vaccination by the middle of November.

What we require from you – visiting your property

  • Just prior to your service, we will ask you to confirm that you have not been in recent contact with a person with COVID-19, are not in isolation awaiting a test result, or have not recently been in a COVID exposure site without returning a negative covid test. We’ll also ask you to disclose anything else that may impact on our capacity to safely conduct your work.
  • We’ll ask you and any others in the property to “check in” by scanning our QR code prior to us commencing work.
  • The COVID Marshall may advise you and others to step into another room so that we can maintain density limits, particularly in confined working spaces.
  • Once we’re underway, you may like to consider waiting elsewhere so that our team can move safely throughout your property and complete your work as quickly as possible.

What we require from you – buying and selling at auction

1. Pay for your purchases and book an appointment in advance so that we can get organised before you arrive.  This can be done by phone or online.
2. Follow the easy steps for contactless collection or drop-off of goods.  See below for more information
3. Whenever you visit (even if it is for the briefest moment), please ensure you:

  • check in using the QR codes
  • wear masks at all times
  • use sanitiser before and after every visit
  • be mindful of social distancing and keep at least 1.5m between us
  • follow the instructions of our COVID Marshalls

4. Please do not visit us if you have symptoms, are in isolation or have recently been at an exposure site. Just call us and we’ll be happy to reschedule.
5. Please be patient, as your service may take a little longer as we manage in these challenging times.

Please be sure to let us know if things are not right for you at any stage, and we’ll do our best to sort it for you.  And above all, keep enjoying the fun of buying and selling at auction.
