Delivery Information

Your goods will be delivered to you – Here’s how it works….

All deliveries will be contactless

To keep us all safe, deliveries will be made without the need for a signature acknowledgement. For most deliveries we will not be entering your premises. Goods will be left at the front of your home or apartment building. You will need to make arrangements to take your items inside. For parcel deliveries we will also assume an authority to leave them at your property.


Small packages and boxes

We recommend Sendle as a low cost option for parcel deliveries. Sendle offers a parcel tracking service and will communicate directly with you via SMS or email to advise of your delivery status. Deliveries are usually collected from Abbeys on the next business day and should be delivered to most parts of Australia within 7 days.


Furniture and large orders with multiple boxes

Your furniture and bulk items will be delivered by the Abbeys team or our engaged carriers. Delivery will usually occur in the week following the auction. Weekend deliveries can be arranged.


What about insurance?

It is the buyer’s responsibility to arrange insurance.

In order to keep your costs down, all parcels and boxes will be sent without insurance unless you let us know otherwise. Please tell us if you require insurance and we will quote and arrange this for you.

For smaller items we suggest Australia Post which has an insurance option. Insurance value will be based on auction value.


Can I arrange someone else to collect my goods for me?

Yes, Contactless Collection (also called “Click and collect”) is strictly by appointment. Please call us to make arrangements.  Make sure the person collecting your goods is aware of our contactless pick-up process and can quote your buyer/paddle number on arrival.


What if my goods are damaged?

Despite everyone’s best efforts, sometimes damage does occur. We do not accept responsibility for goods once they have left our care. However if damage does occur in transit, please call us within 24 hours of receipt and we’ll do our best to sort it for you.

What will my delivery cost? We have fixed prices for local deliveries during Stage 4 restrictions.

Parcel delivery within the Melbourne Metro area
Parcel by Sendle or Australia Post (up to book box size, max 25kg): $201
(please note if your purchase is deemed fragile we will suggest multiple smaller parcels)

Deliveries within a 10km2 radius of Abbeys Auctions Burwood:
Multiple boxes by courier van (1 person): $551
Up to 10 large items by truck (2 people): $1101

Deliveries within a 20km2 radius of Abbeys Auctions Burwood:
Multiple boxes by courier van (1 person): $751
Up to 10 large items by truck (2 people): $1651

Pricing for non-standard deliveries & Insurance

POA for large loads, highly fragile items, extra-large or odd sized items, or delivery to regional Victoria and other parts of Australia. (All prices are GST inclusive)

1 Prices include packing services, packaging materials and transport to your door, but do not include insurance. Please advise us if insurance is required and we will add this for you.
2 Distances are as calculated via Google Maps.

Contactless Pick-up (also called “click and collect”) by appointment

Here’s how it works…


  • Pay & Confirm

    Pay and confirm delivery arrangements or book a Pick-up appointment time – 10 minute time windows will be allocated on either Friday 10am-4.30pm, Saturday 9am – 3.30pm, Monday 9am to 4.30.

  • Arrive on Time

    Arrive at Abbeys Burwood at your appointment time and park at the front of the building.  Remain in your vehicle and call us on 9898 2118 to confirm arrival.

  • Prepared and Allocated

    We will prepare your goods and allocate your collection zone number.

  • Collection Confirmation

    After we’ve confirmed that your goods are ready, proceed to the rear carpark via Alexander Drive (follow the signs) and reverse into your allocated collection zone.

  • You Load Your Purchases

    Our team will not be able to load your purchases into your vehicle during these restrictions, so bring a friend or family member if you need assistance.
