Your goods can be delivered to you – Here’s how it works….

Small packages and boxes

When using third party providers for delivery, Abbeys insist on parcel tracking and expect the courier to communicate directly with you via SMS or email to advise of your delivery status. We use Australia Post for boxes and packages, with most packages leaving Abbeys on a Wednesday or Thursday and should be delivered to most parts of Australia within 7 days of payment.  You will receive an email confirmation with a tracking number once postage has been paid.

Our handling fee is a $15 flat rate which includes the careful preparation and packing of your item to ensure it says safe during transit. More complex / fragile items may incur an additional charge.

Furniture and large orders with multiple boxes

Your furniture and bulk items will be delivered by the Abbeys team or our engaged carriers. Abbeys deliveries can only be arranged for Mondays.  If you require a delivery on an alternate day, please contact one of our recommended couriers (listed below).

What about insurance?

It is the buyer’s responsibility to arrange insurance.

In order to keep your costs down, all parcels and boxes will be sent without insurance unless you let us know otherwise.  Exceptions do occur, particularly for high priced items and all items in special auctions such as Fine Jewellery. Please tell us if you require insurance and we will quote and arrange this for you.

Can I arrange someone else to collect my goods for me?

Yes, Collection (also called “Click and Collect”) is strictly by appointment.  Unfortunately we cannot facilitate and collections or drop offs of goods on Thursday or Sundays. Please call us to make arrangements or click here for more information.  Make sure the person collecting your goods is aware of our  pick-up process and can quote your buyer number on arrival.

Can I organise my own delivery?

Yes you can!  Here’s a list of our recommended couriers:

Alternatively you can organise an Uber package service to collect your smaller consignments by downloading the Uber App.  Find out more about Uber packages here

Please note, we will safely pack items for an Uber delivery – this incurs a $15 handling and packing fee.  Contact us on 03 9898 2118 to organise your pick up time.

What if my goods are damaged?

Despite everyone’s best efforts, sometimes damage does occur. We do not accept responsibility for goods once they have left our care. However if damage does occur in transit, please call us within 24 hours of receipt and we’ll do our best to sort it for you.

What will my delivery cost? We have fixed prices for local deliveries.  This includes the careful handling and packing of your item to ensure it reaches you safely.

When you win an item, you will be sent an email confirming your purchase and provided with a link to pay for your items.  It is at this stage you can request a postage / delivery quote to be added to your order, or simply call us to discuss your options. Please note that we can only deliver to your home on Mondays.  If you require an alternate day, please contact one of our recommended couriers above.

Deliveries within a 5km2 radius of Abbeys Auctions Burwood:
Up to 10 large items by truck (2 people): $155

Deliveries within a 10km2 radius of Abbeys Auctions Burwood:
Up to 10 large items by truck (2 people): $195

Pricing for over 10km2 radius of Abbeys Auctions Burwood (within Melbourne Metropolitan area):
Quoted based on $195 per hour

Non-standard deliveries & Insurance

POA for large loads, highly fragile items, extra-large or odd sized items, or delivery to regional Victoria and other parts of Australia.  We also ask that you advise us if your location has a requirement for our team to bring items up stairs or into a difficult location. (All prices are GST inclusive).

Prices include packing services, packaging materials and transport to your door, but do not include insurance. Please advise us if insurance is required and we will add this for you.

Here’s how it works…

  • Pay & Confirm

    Pay and confirm delivery arrangements using our Booking system or by calling 03 9898 2118 – 10 minute time windows are  allocated on Fridays 10am-4.30pm, Saturdays 9am – 3.30pm, Mondays 9am to 4.30pm and Tuesdays 9am to 4.30pm

  • Arrive on Time

    Arrive at Abbeys Burwood at your appointment time and click the URL on the text message that was sent to you by SocialQ.  Click the “I’ve arrived” button and make your way to the back of Abbeys Burwood (turn into Alexander Drive and follow the signs)

  • Prepared and Allocated

    We will prepare your goods ready for collection

  • Load Your Purchases

    Our team are available to help, but please ensure you have someone to assist you once you get home!  If you are collecting a large number of items, please help us by bringing your own boxes and wrapping paper if possible so that your items do not get broken in transit.
