The definition of Estate jewellery is that it is pre-owned. It does not necessarily come from a deceased estate but quite often it can. There are a number of time periods it may come from, including as far back as the mid1800s (Victorian era) but the majority of pieces we get are in the mid to late 1900s.

Antique jewellery typically refers to items that are over 100 years old, and should therefore not be confused with estate jewellery (which can be any age). Items of this age seldom appear for sale, but try your luck! That being said, we get a wide range of jewellery from the 1950s, 60s and 70s, which would better fall into the Retro or Art or antique categories.

Vintage jewellery is defined by pieces that are over 20 years old (but less than 100). Essentially, it is something that’s not modern. It can also include Mid Century and Art Deco jewellery.
